Internship Report




Law Students are the future judges, lawyers and legal luminaries of our country. In order to sensitise them about their social and legal responsibility towards weaker section of the society and to apprise them about various legislations and schemes made for providing equal opportunity and access to justice to all the citizens and also to teach them the practical lessons of law, BSLSA organises internship programme for 21 days twice in a year.

Although, BSLSA had been organising internship programme for the law students in one batch of about 40-50 students but this year considering the large no. of applications and the need to sensitise the law students about the weaker and unprivileged sections of the society, it was decided to club in maximum no. of students and hence internship programme was organised in two batches commencing from 01.06.2016 to 22.06.2016.

Apart from various law colleges from Bihar, applicants also included students Symbiosis Law College (Pune), Bharatiya Vidyapeeth University (Pune), Symbiosis Law College (Noida), Banaras Hindu University, Kiit University (Bhubneshwar), Dehradun University, Hridyatullah National Law School (Raipur), CNLU (Patna) etc. showed their interest to join internship programme in BSLSA.

Shri Kishor Kunal, OSD, BSLSA was made in-charge of the Summer Internship Programme.

During Internship the students were asked to prepared project reports on differen topics such as Social Laws Relating to Workers of Unorganised Sector, Concept of Legal Aid, Lok-Adalath, Benefit of ADR Mechanism etc.

They were sensitised about laws and schemes related to woman, children, Senior Citizens, Transgender, Prisoners, Fundamental duties, Environment etc. In course of programme the students were taken to ‘Central Jail Beur’ and ‘Phulwari Prison’, Observation Homes ‘Apna Ghar’ and ‘Nishanth’ . Where, they interacted with inmates and also given opportunity to address legal awareness programme inside prisons. The students were also taken to two villages namely Bhojipur and Udaini to participate in a legal awareness programme. They were also taken to the Civil Court, Patna where they got firsthand experience about working of court.

The Certificate was distributed on 22.06.2016.
